"As to the 23 that
were at the WTC on 911, I believe I speak for all of them when I say that what
was done that day by us was not done for heroism. It was something we were
compelled to do. A conscious act on our part. If we had to do it again, we would
go back in. I recognize we directed people to other locations. I believe we
saved in excess of a thousand lives that day."
