911 Memorial in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Please meet Kenneth Senter, history instructor at Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee and mentor of the 911 Memorial at the High School in that same town.

Kenneth Senter's story is unique in that not only did he perform a wonderful service to his community and our city of New York by creating and presenting this memorial to the High School in Oak Ridge on behalf of all the 911 heroes, but he is also working on placing memorial plaques around the country.

These plaques, visible in the photos above, contain steel from Ground Zero that he obtained on his trip to New York after the devastating attacks. Each piece of steel was cut from one beam producing 51 pieces in total that will be shipped to each of the states by students who have and are still continuing to volunteer to undertake this noble project.

Mr Senter is recruting groups of students from Schools around our nation who wish to volunteer. For further details please contact Mr Kenneth Senter at ksenter@ortn.edu

If you are a Rotarian you may contact the owner of this website, Barbara Lang-Lyras Auffret, member of the New York City Rotary Club that meets at the Harvard Club on Mondays, 12:15, for further information. I am encouraging Rotarac Student Groups around our nation to get involved with is program for the opportunity of a life time. Contact 911remembered@optonline.net for further information. Thank you.
