Memorial to all Members of Service lost in the line of duty is located two blocks west of the original World Trade Center site in down-town Manhattan on the river walk in a protected harbor site. After the devastating attacks on America this harbor area was kept sacred by all those who visited Ground Zero. It was covered in memorial dedications to all of those lost. On Sept 11, 2001, the NYPD lost 23 courageous heroes, the Port Authority of NY & NJ lost 37 heroes and the NYS Court lost 3 of their heroic officers.
